A successful website is made up of equal amounts of web development knowledge, web site design creativity and search engine optimization (SEO) expertise. In is not only important that each industry bring its best and brightest individuals in these areas to the project table but that they each understand the best practices of the other areas to create a seamless and highly successful website.
Recently, I was asked to give a presentation to a group of Milwaukee Area Technical College (MATC) web development students. The specific class was Dreamweaver and although they were learning about the best methods for compiling a CSS file or creating cool JavaScript rollover navigation menus, they wanted to know how web development programming helped or hindered SEO. To help answer their questions, the SEO Best Practices for Web Developers presentation was created.
